Some people are indeed insensitive when it comes to anything but themselves. However this is a click fix for problems around the city, not a complaint forum for goary details about how an animal died.

I posted this because the speed limit in this area is allowing drivers to be more careless. Drivers are in a hurry to get past the traffic light at West & Washington or even in the other direction 2 Washington & Kirby. A lot of the drivers are NAVY personnel in a hurry to get home or are late to work at the NAVY Site. Drop the speed limit down to 30 from Kirby to Washington St. This will also aide pedestrians and bicyclists to use this section of the road for safer travel. You don't like it then don't read it. Think it should be removed then flag it. Otherwise keep your negative comments to yourself.

I feel sorry for the owner, but cats should not be left outside. Unfortunate incidents such as this will happen. I don't brake for small animals that run into the road.

Truly unnecessary to be so graphic. Doug is right. And once an animal is dead, it is dead. Perhaps you should have called the city to ask them to pick up the dead body and then nobody would have run over it's head.

And by the way, it was totally rude and unnecessary to imply that someone from the Navy did it. It could have been anyone.

I am shocked to hear all of these comments. What a shame. Not just for the kitten, but for the way the matter is being dealt with. I agree about the speed limit, primarily because trying to get in and out of the post office, or any other facility or residence, can be very difficult. Not that I'm saying the life of the kitten was less important, but if one has rode their bicycle between Washington and Kirby, you will quickly see what I'm talking about. PD, shame on you for your comment about any NAVY personnel. It could have been anyone at anytime. Sadly, accidents do happen especially if the kitten was soo small that someone even going 30 mph might have a hard time spotting. It was shame about the kitten, and should be looked more at where it came from. I bet the owners are sad for their loss.

I didn't say the NAVY personnel did it. I said that they have a habit of speeding on that road.

The point is, you implied by stating that they have a habit of speeding there, that someone from the Navy may have been responsible.

I did not imply that NAVY did it. I implied that the speed limit there is an issue as many NAVY personnel ignore the speed limits in that area.
