Description

There are 2 issues in which I wish to address. Issue # 1) Parking in the streets: There are no signs about parking but the street is not wide enough for people to be parking in the streets especially when all properties on Allen Drive have their own off-street parking spaces. The Blue PT Cruiser Convertible and the Blue 1970's Chevy Pick Up Truck are always parked on the corners so when you turn right or left on to Allen Drive from Kirby Rd these 2 vehicles if not more are in your way as you turn and they block your view of the street so you can't see if traffic is coming or if there are any pedestrians in the road. Primarily the tenants of the first 6 buildings on Allen Drive (counting both sides of the street) are parking along in the street alongside the properties in which they live although as I have mentioned their apartments come with off-street parking. They do this all through the winter too which causes difficulty for the plows to clear the streets safely. I would like to see them stop parking there as well as at the curve in the road at 32-34 Allen Drive.

Issue # 2) Speeding on Allen Drive. I know the speed limit on this road is 30MPH but we have a playground on the end near Church St. as well as many children living along the entire road. We have 1 Children at Play sign on the end of the road near Kirby Rd . but it was installed so very high on the pole only a Tractor-Trailer driver can see it. There is nothing on the Church St. end advising drivers of children at play or the playground. I suggest the speed limit along this entire road be lowered from 30MPH To 15 or 20MPH and a playground ahead sign be install as you enter the road from Church St. and again along the road coming from the Kirby Rd. end just before you reach the curve in the road. We also have many senors living on the Kirby Rd. end and I think it would be much safer for them as well if the speed limit was lowered . A road curved ahead sign on both sides of the curve in the road would be great to since there are not many street lights and you can't see from afar that the road curves.
